University education faculty cutbacks could worsen teacher shortage crisis

University of Auckland Vice-Chancellor Stuart McCutcheon's proposal to cut staff from the Faculty of Education risks worsening the chronic teacher shortage facing New Zealand, the Tertiary Education Union (TEU) said on Tuesday.
