‘The urgency fallacy’: culture in teaching normalises digital burnout
Too many Australian teachers are suffering digital burnout and operate in a culture where it’s entirely normal to hit up colleagues with lesson ideas via WhatsApp at 11pm each night, an expert has said.
“In the online world, everything feels urgent and important, because we have brains that were designed to go and forage and get information, not to have it continually sent and thrust to us,” Dr Kristy Goodwin says.
