Reading Difficulties: an Australia-wide Problem
Statistics show that millions of Australians have reading difficulties. Dyslexia is estimated to affect 10 per cent of the Australian population, and this figure increases when undiagnosed reading difficulties are included. Based on a population of nearly 25 million, approximately 2.5 million Australians are dyslexic. It is estimated that 15-20 per cent of the population has a language-based learning disability.
