One third of students in Victoria and NSW suffer racism

One-in-three school students in NSW and Victoria have experienced racist bullying at the hands of their peers, an Australian university study has found.

A third of NSW and Victorian children say they have been racially bullied by their classmates.

Nearly half of the students surveyed - 43 per cent - also reported seeing teachers direct racially-motivated discrimination at other students.
