A new study has found that reading a good novel has a much greater effect on students’ learning than reading a magazine or comic book.
Griffith University’s Beryl Exley says that comics, newspapers and magazines don't escalate children's cognitive skills as much as paper-based books because “they usually present everyday concepts with everyday vocabulary in a practical way”.
