Financial reward equals value?

Here's a radical thought. More of a question really, I suppose. Who is of more value to society? A mechanic, a doctor, a carpenter, a pilot, a farmer, a therapist, or possibly a teacher?

It might not even be a fair question, but it is one that has found its way into my head ...
