Words change their meanings and usage over time. Changes can be good or bad. It depends a lot on the new meaning and usage, and whether the change is for propaganda reasons or natural usage. Often the changes are due to fads and fashions and come and go as the fashion changes.

Often words change due to the way the word is used and alterations in its usage.
