Room Leader (3-4 Years) - Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Wickford, EssexSalary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annumStart Date: Immediate / SeptemberContract: Permanent

A welcoming and well-established nursery in Wickford is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader to lead their 3-4-year-old room on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate early years professional to join a friendly and supportive team. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the preschool room, ensuring children receive outstanding care while delivering engaging learning experiences that support their development through the EYFS framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily running of the 3-4-year-old room

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS Framework

  • Support children's learning, development, and wellbeing

  • Lead, motivate, and support Early Years Practitioners within the room

  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers

  • Complete observations, assessments, and learning journals

  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times

    • Requirements

    Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or above)

  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting

  • Experience leading a room or supervising staff

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

    • Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification

  • Experience preparing children for transition into Reception

  • A positive, enthusiastic, and nurturing approach
