Kingston State School is situated in the heart of Logan City in the South East Region of Queensland with a student population of approximately 500 students from very diverse backgrounds. About the Role:

  • Continuously improve the local implementation of the department's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Provide support to the nominated schools in health and safety including risk management, incident reporting and review and the rehabilitation and return to work coordination of ill or injured staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing clear and timely advice to the leadership and staff on health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and wellbeing policies, procedures and systems.
  • Coordinate audits, inspections, emergency preparedness and hazard management activities.
  • Support staff wellbeing, rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.
  • Monitor WHS data, identify risks and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Deliver training, inductions and awareness programs to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Assist with incident management, reporting and critical incident response.
  • Provide reports, recommendations and fire safety compliance support to school leadership and committees.
  • Ability to work independently with other teams to strengthen local practice.
