Position Information

Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co–educational secondary school situated in south-western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre and one Inclusive Support Class. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 993 (840 mainstream, 153 IEC). The school is culturally diverse with 92% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has 74 refugee or refugee–like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background. The FOEI of the school is 169.  All students are encouraged to achieve in an environment that provides academic challenge and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (7-8) and Food TechnologyApproval, experience or willingness to teach other TAS subjects. 

  2. Demonstrated capacity to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute towards the development of programs and resources.

  3. Evidence of effective classroom management to promote a supportive and positive learning environment

  4. Demonstrated ability to lead an inclusive learning environment that caters for engagement and differentiation of abilities, including gifted and talented students and those from non-English speaking backgrounds. 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
