Position Information

North Kellyville Public School is a large growing school in the North West of Sydney. Opening its doors in 2019 there is a current enrolment of 1070 students. The school has 44 mainstream classes and 4 MC support classes. 71% of students enrolled are from non-English speaking backgrounds, less than 1% of students are Aboriginal. The school's educational model features high levels of collaboration between staff. A "Home & Co" model sees teachers and students work in interconnected classrooms with aims to further improve communication and enhance understanding of individual student progress across the curriculum. North Kellyville Public School has an extensive range of extra-curricular activities for students to participate in and is well supported by an engaged P&C and parent community. Students, staff members, parents and community groups develop a positive identity and sense of belonging to the school, supported by shared values of respect, responsibility, resilience and dreaming big.

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism and Intellectual and Physical Disabilities. 

Proven ability to liaise with all stakeholders to plan and implement individual learning, behaviour and risk management plans to support the needs of students.

Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and the Disability Standards for Education and the capacity to enhance inclusive practice throughout the school.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to act as part of a cohesive team working towards positive educational outcomes for all students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
