Position Information

Fowler Road School is a School for Specific Purpose, Intensive Learning Support (Mental Health), located in the suburb of Merrylands, South-Western Sydney. The school has an enrolment cap of 56 students, Kindergarten to Year12, there is a high representation of equity groups including ATSI and EAL/D students. Collaborative partnerships with our families and wider school community are highly valued. The school maintains an active link with the referring census schools (shared enrolment) of each student. Together we work collaboratively to implement reasonable adjustments, individualised planning and build the skills and capacity for students with a disability to access the curriculum and school life on the same basis as their peers, both at Fowler Road School and in the census school setting. The successful applicant will join a welcoming and supportive team environment. 

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Emotional Disturbances (Primary) and Emotion Disturbances (Secondary). 

Ability to develop, implement and review differentiated Personalised Learning and Support Plans that maximise student growth, foster high expectations, and promote student engagement.

Dedication and proven skill in delivering high-quality, evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction, with a strong focus on explicit teaching and differentiation.  

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute to whole school culture, working collaboratively to build positive relationships with students, the wider school community and external stakeholders.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
