About this job

Position Information

Berkeley Vale Public School prides itself on maintaining an excellent reputation within the local and broader community. The school pays respect to all Aboriginal people and acknowledges that we are on Darkinjung land. The school is a proud partner of Tuggerah Lakes Learning Community (TLLC), Central Coast. Strong alliances with the University of Newcastle and the Kuriwa Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) are also established.

The current student enrolment is 530 students, with 7.4% acknowledging Aboriginality and 4% English as an Additional Language (EALD). There are 21 classrooms, and 53 staff ranging from new graduates to more experienced staff, with 15 ancillary and support staff working as a team to provide educational excellence.

The P&C are a supportive community group of parents and carers who ensure timely resourcing and support is provided to enhance the learning opportunities for all. Aspirations of the community include the current development of an engaging playground for all students. Berkeley Vale Public School houses an OOSH (Out of School Hours) service on site which is managed by the P&C association. This OOSH provides a valuable service to our community.

Students are actively encouraged and supported to participate in a diverse range of learning experiences and opportunities. These include student leadership programs, school and Koori choir groups, dance groups, Premier's Reading and Sporting Challenges, Premier's Spelling Bee, debating, public speaking and a wide range of sporting activities.

Student voice is highly valued at Berkeley Vale Public School, and our K-6 students will continue to be offered opportunities to build their individual leadership capacity.
