Position Information

Bella Vista Public School is in the Northwest Sydney region. The school has a current enrolment of 1100 students and includes five multi-categorical (MC) support classes for students with a disability.

Bella Vista PS incorporates an innovative and future focused educational model, including flexible teaching and learning spaces organised into distinct home bases alongside modern specialist teaching spaces.

The school uses Microsoft tools as a platform for teaching and learning. The school has an active P and C Association. Current priorities of the school include literacy and numeracy excellence, innovative teaching and student well-being.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education with experience teaching students with autism, mild intellectual disabilities, and moderate intellectual disabilities, with proven ability to implement strategies to meet their communication, behavioural, sensory, social and emotional needs.

Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum using evidence-based research and to develop and implement plans and specific learning goals that maximise student engagement and achievement.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with staff, parents and other stakeholders.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
