Position Information
Cardiff High School is a coeducational comprehensive school located on the northern side of Lake Macquarie, on the traditional lands of the Awabakal People. In 2026, the school recorded 785 enrolments, including 120 students from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Backgrounds. With steady student population growth in recent years, Cardiff High has established a strong reputation within the Cardiff, Garden Suburb, Hillsborough, and Macquarie Hills communities. The school offers a diverse curriculum that supports a wide range of academic, creative arts, and vocational interests, with many students progressing to tertiary education or local industry pathways. Cardiff High School operates a SOAR Learning Centre (special education), including 54 students in 7 supported classes. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach PDHPE Years 7-12, Community and Family Studies (CAFS), Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation (SLR) and Exploring Early Childhood (EEC).
Proven capacity to deliver high quality teaching and learning programs in Stage 6 Health and Movement Science, using evidence-informed practice, effective assessment and data to maximise HSC student achievement.
Demonstrated ability to build positive and collaborative professional relationships with colleagues, leading to culturally responsive teaching and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal students, families, and the wider community, to improve educational outcomes within an inclusive school culture.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
