Position Information

Richmond High School, situated in the Hawkesbury, is a comprehensive 7-12 high school providing quality educational opportunities to a local enrolment stream, a support stream with 7 classes, an ag-stem specialty stream and a selective stream. Approximately 824 students are enrolled in 2026. This includes 53 students in the support unit, with 15% of our student body identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our school will continue to grow in coming years. The school is committed to excellence in teaching and learning where all students can succeed. Our staff are committed to explicit teaching, engaging HPGE learners and maintaining a caring, inclusive environment for all students. We offer a comprehensive curriculum, including a full range of academic core, elective and vocational courses. Our school has an extensive range of extracurricular activities and a supportive wellbeing program.

Specific Selection Criteria

·       Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education

·       Capacity to design and deliver differentiated, engaging PDHPE teaching and learning programs in both practical and theory settings that utilise explicit teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and promote high expectations and student achievement.

·       Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and contribute collaboratively to faculty planning, programming, assessment and whole-school initiatives.

·       Ability to work effectively within a cohesive PDHPE faculty to plan, deliver and evaluate new curriculum, sporting programs and extracurricular activities that enhance student engagement and wellbeing.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
