Position Information
Granville Boys High School (917 students), 98% Non-English-Speaking Background, is a partially selective secondary school for boys with a selective and enrichment classes in year 7-10. Our culturally diverse school nurtures inclusivity, personal responsibility, and friendship. The school moto is ‘Aiming for Excellence’ and has a strong academic focus that includes a Saturday tutoring program and a Robotics program. GBHS has its own work skills programs which includes a Barber Shop and the Pulse Café. Our school is located in the South-Western Sydney, which is the most multicultural region of Australia. Through our partnerships with universities, local businesses and the wider community, we provide our boys with quality teaching and learning opportunities to prepare for life beyond school.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
Strong communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationships in the faculty and the wider school community
Demonstrated ability to deliver PDHPE programs that will result in student growth across a range of abilities and cultural backgrounds.
Capacity to contribute to sport and extra-curricular activities in school.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
