Position Information

Gledswood Hills Public School, is a large and rapidly growing school, housed in state-of the-art facility located in South Western Sydney. It is part of the Macarthur Network of Schools for the Department of Education. 1006 students are enrolled at Gledswood Hills Public School, where students from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) make up 51% of the school population and 3% of students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Our school motto is 'Together We Can' and reflects our school culture of inclusion, collaboration and belonging. Continual monitoring of student performance data determines areas of need and success at class and school level. The school has a strong focus on high quality teaching and learning. Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach K-6 and approval to teach Primary Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

2. Ability to learn and effectively use Oliver, the primary school library management system, including understanding budget processes, technology use, and the organisation of library resources.

3. Proven communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills to work collaboratively and build authentic relationships across the school community by implementing whole-school events and programs aligned with the teacher librarian role.

4. Proven ability to evaluate, select, acquire, catalogue and maintain a diverse range of high-quality resources in multiple formats, including digital tools, online databases and print collections, to support curriculum implementation, inclusive of Aboriginal Culture and Histories, High Potential and Gifted Education, and diverse student learning needs.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
