Position Information
Appin Public School is a growing primary school located within a semi-rural community in the Southwest Sydney growth corridor. Positioned within an expanding residential area, the school continues to experience steady enrolment growth as new housing developments shape the local community. The school currently has an enrolment of approximately 345 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including 7% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 9% of students from a language background other than English.

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach as a Teacher Librarian, or currently undertaking or willing to undertake Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with a demonstrated commitment to promoting literacy, a love of reading, and the role of the library within the school and wider community.
- Demonstrated understanding of digital citizenship, including the safe, responsible, and ethical use of technology, and the capacity to support students and staff in navigating digital information and online learning environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Curriculum, particularly in HSIE including History and Geography, and the ability to support inquiry-based learning, research skills, and curriculum implementation through effective library programs and resource management.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team, build positive relationships with students, staff, and the community, and contribute positively to whole-school initiatives and culture.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

This is a permanent part-time position for 4days 0.8 full time equivalent
