Position Information
Granville East Public School is a vibrant, diverse school of 260 students serving a culturally rich community on Dharug Country in Sydney's western suburbs. With 96% students having English as an additional language/dialect, we have over 24 different linguistic groups. 50% of students are from an Arabic speaking background with Dari, Urdu and Persian speakers our next most populous linguistic groups.
Granville East PS has 11 mainstream classes with a strong culture of explicit teaching, student inquiry and positive behaviours for learning driving our school community. Staff work collaboratively in small teaching teams and leaders are responsible for curriculum and wellbeing outcomes improvement. A small P&C supports our uniform shop and engages in school fundraising and other activities.
Our Signature programs include: daily, explicit small-group Guided Reading; play-based learning opportunities across K-6; and student leadership of Learning Conversations in our 3-way reporting interviews.
At GEPS, everyone from the youngest student to the principal is a learner.

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated ability to engage students in critical and creative thinking, digital literacy, current curriculum and a love of literature.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the school.
Capacity to organise and manage the resources of a primary school library that supports teaching and learning.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

This is a permanent part-time position for 3 days per week 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
