Position Information

Gunnedah High School is a welcoming, comprehensive school within the Connected Communities Strategy. Located 78 kilometres west of Tamworth in the New England region of NSW, it serves students from Gunnedah and surrounding rural communities, including Boggabri, Mullaley and Somerton. With a current enrolment of 421 students, 53% of whom identify as Aboriginal, the school is committed to meeting diverse learning needs through personalised pathways and career-focused opportunities.

The school includes a Special Education Unit comprising five MC classes, one IM class, and a Tutorial Centre, ensuring every student is known, valued and cared for. Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach English 7 - 10.

  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and empathetically with teachers, support staff, parents and agencies.
  • Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and contribute to differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
