Position Information
Cecil Hills High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in a growth area of south–west Sydney. The student enrolment of over 1400 students (Year 7 to Year 12) includes 85% of students from a non–English speaking background. The school has 1% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school proudly has a support unit consisting of six classes and is expanding to seven classes in 2025. The main languages spoken at home are Vietnamese, Arabic and Serbian. The school is experiencing significant enrolment growth, and this is expected to continue into the future. The proposed Western Sydney Airport is in the school's drawing area and will provide significant employment and training links when constructed. The school has an outstanding reputation for quality teaching and learning, which fosters a productive learning environment, with a history of academic success and high expectations in all curriculum areas. Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Engineering Studies and Industrial Technology
2. Demonstrated capacity to effectively deliver differentiated learning experience in the classroom to inspire diverse learners
3. Proven ability to manage practical work spaces to ensure student safety, full participation and high levels of engagement in
lessons
4. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to contribute to faculty and
whole school programs
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
