Position Information
Coffs Harbour High School is a comprehensive secondary school located on the North Coast of NSW with an enrolment of 809 students and a support unit comprised of six classes. The school incorporates a diverse student population, including 11.7% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 25% of students with a Language Background Other than English, with the majority of these coming from a refugee background, and 14% with English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) currently receiving additional learning support. Our Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 114, with 65% of students in the lowest two income quartiles.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Music and willingness to teach Visual Arts.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, extra-curricular activities, and develop and sustain positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging, differentiated teaching programs for a diverse range of learners and the integration of technology into the classroom.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
