About the Role:
As the Senior Social and Digital Media Officer, you will play a key role in driving the department's social and digital media activities, leading the development and delivery of engaging content and campaigns that support departmental priorities and showcase the value of state education.
Based in Brisbane, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders and senior leaders to plan content and campaigns, grow audiences, and provide expert advice on digital engagement, platform strategy and content performance.
This role reports to the Manager, Social and Digital Media.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the development and delivery of innovative social and digital media content and campaigns.
- Provide strategic advice on social media platforms, audience growth, engagement and risk management.
- Plan, implement and evaluate digital campaigns to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Identify emerging trends and leverage insights to maximise opportunities across digital channels.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to support effective communication initiatives.
About You:
You're not just a content creator; you think strategically about how content performs and why. It would be highly desirable to have the following skills and experience:
- Strong experience in social media and digital marketing strategy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyse performance data and optimise campaigns.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Experience working in fast-paced or complex environments (government experience is a plus, not essential).

Mandatory requirements
- Ability to participate in an on-call roster responding to urgent communication needs.
