About the Role

Veritas Education are currently working in partnership with a range of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Kirklees, who are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. You will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, develop their independence, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support students' emotional regulation and behavioural needs
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and individual support plans

    • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
