Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN English Teacher to join a specialist setting in Richmond, supporting students with a range of complex learning needs.

The Role

You will be delivering English lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, Autism, and learning difficulties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated English lessons across KS3-KS4
  • Supporting students working below age-related expectations, including Entry Level and functional skills
  • Developing students' literacy, communication, and reading confidence
  • Managing behaviour using calm, consistent and trauma-informed approaches
  • Tracking student progress and contributing to EHCP targets and reviews
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience teaching English within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing, patient approach
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse and complex learning needs
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • Experience delivering functional skills or entry-level English (desirable)
