Title: SEN Cover Supervisor

The Role:

We are seeking a confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our schools and support pupils across the Huddersfield Area. In this role you will cover classes across a range of subjects, delivering pre-prepared work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a calm, purposeful and positive learning environment.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies and promote high expectations.
  • Support pupils of varying abilities, encouraging inclusion, independence and engagement.
  • Liaise with teachers and colleagues regarding completed work and pupil progress.
  • Assist with examinations, trips, resources, ICT and other school activities.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection procedures.

    • Requirements:

  • Ability to empathise with vulnerable pupils & patiently build trust and rapport.
  • Utilise emotional resilience with the capacity to stay calm under intense pressure and set clear boundaries.
  • Have strong communication skills with strong active listening and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience working with children or adults with additional educational needs in educational or care settings.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory. (We can help advise on this)
  • Specialist training/ qualifications (Team Teach, Safeguarding Certificates etc)
