The Role

We are currently seeking motivated and committed Secondary Teaching Assistants to support a range of partner schools in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and supporting young people in achieving their full potential.

You will work alongside teaching staff to provide targeted support, both in and out of the classroom, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subject areas
  • Provide one-to-one and small group intervention support
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
  • Support students with additional needs, including SEN and behavioural challenges
  • Help to maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour

    • Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
