Veritas Education is proud to be working with a warm and welcoming independent nursery in Wetherby to recruit an experienced and passionate Room Leader for a full-time opportunity within a supportive early years setting.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident early years professional who is ready to take the lead within a nurturing and child-focused environment. The nursery prides itself on providing high-quality care and education, with a strong emphasis on creating engaging learning experiences where children can thrive.

As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the room, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and organised environment for both children and staff. You will lead by example, support and motivate practitioners within the room, and work closely with management to maintain high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding.

The successful candidate must have previous experience in a Room Leader position or experience leading within an early years setting, alongside a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations within the nursery room
  • Supporting and guiding practitioners within the team
  • Planning and overseeing engaging learning activities in line with EYFS
  • Monitoring children's development and maintaining accurate records
  • Building positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times
  • Creating a positive, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children

    • Requirements:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous Room Leader or leadership experience within a nursery setting
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality early years education
  • A proactive and supportive approach to leadership
