A key function of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) that delivers high-quality, targeted and evidence-informed capability development for a multi-disciplinary workforce.

The role of Project Officer is offered on a full-time temporary basis, until 31 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

As a Project Officer, you will play an important role in leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality professional learning at the Metropolitan North Region Education Futures Institute.

Key functions of this role include:

  • Leading administrative, organisational and corporate support functions to enable the effective delivery of capability programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinating booking, travel and financial activities, including processing and reconciling corporate card payments, in line with departmental standards and using appropriate software systems.
  • Liaising with senior management, team members, departmental colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high‑quality administrative support services.
  • Providing executive and organisational support, including diary management, scheduling, communications and correspondence, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

The ideal applicants are individuals who demonstrate:

  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem‑solving skills to manage competing tasks and deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Content Manager and Microsoft Teams; experience with SAP is desirable.
  • A collaborative and positive approach, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team and thrive in a fast‑paced environment to deliver meaningful outcomes in education
