As a procurement team with a very unique portfolio and function, the CMS team within GGS specialises in managing Supply Arrangements and other expenditure strategies, working closely with Queensland state schools to ensure they have seamless access to these resources and the support to manage issues with confidence.

Reporting to the Manager, CMS, the Principal Procurement Officer will lead a small team of two to oversee a complex retail entities Supply Arrangement and support schools in managing a high volume of procurement activities and related matters under this arrangement.

About the Role:

This role is a unique blend of responsibilities, combining the strategic oversight of a Contract Manager, the leadership and coordination skills of a Team Leader, the expertise and problem-solving abilities of a Procurement Advisor, and the operational focus and customer-centric approach of a Call Centre Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

In conjunction with the position description, this role will also include:

  • Leading a small team of procurement staff to provide helpful, timely and accurate advice to schools and other stakeholders.
  • Manage a large and complex Supply Arrangement for the provision of retail entities.
  • On occasion, presenting at forums, conferences and masterclasses.

  • You are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and excel in environments that prioritise providing timely, accurate advice and support.
  • You are a confident and courageous communicator, capable of providing clear direction while maintaining a friendly and respectful approach.
  • You have experience leading a small team in a client-facing environment, with a proven ability to allocate tasks effectively and manage competing priorities.
  • You have a solid foundation in procurement processes and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues as they arise.
