The Opportunity:
As a member of the Services Planning team you will:
- Undertake a range of infrastructure planning activities including monitoring the impacts of annual student growth to inform the development of planning for new schools
- Work with teams across the department and in partnership with external stakeholders to source, validate and analyse information to provide investment recommendations for senior leaders
- Provide strategic advice on land use planning and site selection to inform future allocation or acquisition of sites for new schools
About you:
To be successful as a Principal Planning Officer, you will possess:
- Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to meet client needs, represent the department and maintain mutually productive partnerships with stakeholders including local government, other state government agencies including QGSO and other internal and external stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated high level analytical skills with the ability to develop conclusions using varied sources of information and a willingness to test assumptions through collaboration
- A desire to improve systems, services, policies, practices and processes to ensure that departmental objectives are achieved and to be accountable for the course of action taken to create this improvement
- A positive and collaborative approach to complex issues and enjoys working as a team to develop solutions
