Position Information
Villawood East Public School is situated in south-west Sydney and has an enrolment of approximately 300 students. The school includes a support unit and an onsite pre-school.
An appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is embedded throughout the school environment and curriculum, showing respect for land and the traditional custodians. Approximately 8% of students are indigenous.
Villawood East Public School serves a multicultural community, with 85% of students having a language background other than English and comprising 23 language groups.
Extra-curricular opportunities in student leadership, sport and the creative arts enable students to participate in a range of different experiences. The onsite Community Hub offers TAFE courses for community members and provides opportunities for families to connect and thrive within the local school community and beyond.

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high-quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

A. Ability to develop a long-term vision for Villawood East Public School that promotes a high expectations culture for students and staff
B. Skills to lead and manage a complex school site that has a support unit, pre-school and significant SBAR
C. Visible leadership and skills to build authentic connections and work collaboratively with parents, staff and the wider school community
D. Capacity to lead the development of programs to enhance student wellbeing and promote inclusion

Classification Structure for Principals:
The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. Please refer to the information regarding the Classification Structure for Principals.
The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2024 and also for 2025.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
