Position Information

Maroubra Bay Public School is located in the Eastern Suburbs Sydney with 218 students currently enrolled. There is a rich diverse school population, with 45 cultural groups represented. There are currently 19 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 115 students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD). Extracurricular opportunities are offered including dancing, PSSA sports, Public Speaking and Debating competitions and the whole school garden program give students experiences where they can explore and enhance their creative abilities and make sense of the world around them. There are identified areas for improvement in student performance, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy, with a strong focus on using data informed evidence-based practices. This is implemented by explicit teaching of syllabus outcomes, where support for all learners is addressed through targeted programs such as High Performance and Gifted Education and Small Group Tuition. Students' learning improvements will be monitored regularly, measuring growth for all students, across the full range of abilities. Quality education for our students is offered through an innovative, challenging and vibrant learning environment. Through a commitment to high expectations, quality teaching and academic excellence, students embark on a pathway to lifelong learning and continued success. 4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,

2. A demonstrated ability to genuinely embrace the culture of inclusion and wellbeing.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for 2026.
