About the Role

The leadership role of Principal is critical to improving the educational outcomes of students in their schools. As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold values-based, ethical leadership.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Nurture positive partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Be future-oriented and strategic.
  • Understand policies and legislation effecting the department.
  • Manage department resources to achieve goals.
