Pastoral Officer - Full-Time, Long-Term Role

About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Officer for a full-time, long-term role.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced pastoral professional, youth worker, behaviour mentor, or support worker looking to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and engagement across the school.
You will work closely with students, families, teaching staff, and external agencies to help remove barriers to learning and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Provide pastoral support to students across KS3 and KS4Support students with attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing concernsDeliver one-to-one mentoring and targeted interventionsPromote positive behaviour and engagement in learningBuild strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and staffMonitor and track student progress, attendance, and behaviourAssist with reintegration, restorative practice, and behaviour support strategiesWork closely with safeguarding, SEND, and senior leadership teamsLiaise with external agencies where requiredMaintain accurate records and reportsThe Ideal Candidate
Experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, social care, or support settingsStrong communication and relationship-building skillsCalm, resilient, and able to work effectively under pressurePassionate about supporting students to overcome barriers to learningExcellent organisational and record-keeping skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitted to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleWhat the School Offers
