About this job

Nursery Practitioner (Qualified or Unqualified)

Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities | York (YO24)

Do you love the outdoors and believe children learn best when they're free to explore, discover, and get a little muddy?

We're currently recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner to join a beautiful nature-based nursery in YO24. We welcome both qualified practitioners (Level 2 or Level 3) and unqualified candidates with previous childcare experience who share a passion for helping children learn through play, adventure, and outdoor experiences.

This is a truly unique setting where nature is at the heart of every day. Children spend plenty of time outdoors exploring, investigating, and developing confidence through hands-on learning experiences. From woodland walks and nature activities to creative outdoor play, no two days are ever the same.

The nursery has a warm, family feel and a team that genuinely cares about one another. Staff are supported, appreciated, and encouraged to bring their own ideas and enthusiasm to the setting. It's the perfect role for someone who wants to be part of a positive environment where children and practitioners can thrive.

The Role

  • Supporting children's learning and development through play and exploration
  • Encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independence
  • Taking part in outdoor activities and nature-based learning
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment
  • Working as part of a friendly and supportive team
  • What We're Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, or previous childcare experience
  • A passion for working with children
  • A positive, energetic, and caring attitude
  • Someone who enjoys being outdoors in all seasons
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Why You'll Love This Role

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • Work in a unique nature nursery environment
  • Supportive and welcoming team
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • A rewarding role where every day is different
  • The opportunity to inspire children through outdoor learning and exploration
  • If you're looking for a role where you can swap four walls for fresh air, help children develop a love for nature, and be part of a nursery with a truly special ethos, we'd love to hear from you.
