About the Role:

The Manager, Alternative Learning Programs will review, lead, develop and roll out, fit-for-purpose policy advice and guidance to support school decision making on alternative learning programs that respond to the unique needs of students and that ensure students reach their full potential.

The role will play a key leadership function in shaping contemporary, evidence-informed approaches to in-school, alternative learning and engagement programs that respond to the diverse needs of learners and that support quality educational program delivery, that is contextualised and able to meet evolving needs

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing and researching contemporary, evidence-informed, in-school alternative learning programs that support student engagement.
  • Consulting system and school leaders on the supports and alternative learning options that have effectively addressed student disengagement and delivered educational outcomes.
  • Developing high-level, system guidance on quality, in-school, alternative educational program delivery which accounts for the unique, educational needs of students and the complex environment in which schools operate.
  • Providing strategic advice and preparing high-level briefing materials to support executive decision making.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate good judgement, the ability to work with autonomy, a collaborative approach to influencing outcomes and will have demonstrated experience delivering programs of work that improve educational outcomes.
