Key Responsibilities:
As Manager, your role will include the following key tasks:
- Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of team, branch and division priorities, ensuring outcomes are aligned to, and supportive of, the department's agenda.
- Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant students with disability and disability reform.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the team, branch and division priorities.
- Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs within the team and branch, across the department and with other external stakeholders.
- Prepare and review briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to the work of the branch at state, national and international levels.
The Manager reports to the Executive Director, Disability, Student Support, Department of Education, or nominated delegate.
It would be highly desirable to have the following key attributes:
- Advanced and high-level writing skills and an ability to effectively and concisely summarise pertinent information to enable informed decision-making.
- Knowledgeable of government systems, policies and procedures and their application to operational practice.
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills and a proven ability to present complex concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated experience managing corporate programs, projects and processes at an organisational level and the ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and at times with limited direction to produce results.
- Ability to demonstrate how their experience and capabilities prepare them to meet the key responsibilities of the role.
