About the role
We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide in-class assistance in the Senior School for students with specific special learning needs. You will support classroom teachers to establish an effective learning environment and to provide adjustments to learning materials to support all students in their learning experience.
Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience includes:
- Certificate III in Education Support (as minimum or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in providing student support
- Creative and demonstrates initiative
- Excellent ICT and administrative skills
- Current certification in Provide First Aid
- Awareness of the Privacy Act
- Experience providing support to Indigenous students would be an advantage.
Key Selection Criteria: Personal Qualities
- Initiative and the capacity for self-direction, while at the same time contributing to the output of the larger team
- Warm, caring and nurturing disposition
- A positive, enthusiastic team member with superior organisational skills, the ability to set goals and prioritise work, and the capacity to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a diverse range of students and parents
- Ability to ensure confidentiality.
