Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Pay: £90-£115 per day (DOE) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm Full-Time | Term Time Only Romford, Essex

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join a welcoming specialist setting supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex communication needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment where staff play a vital role in helping pupils develop independence, confidence, communication skills, and achieve their individual goals.

Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Role:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including Autism, SLD, PMLD, and communication needs
  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom
  • Assisting with personalised learning activities, sensory interventions, and care routines
  • Encouraging communication, engagement, emotional regulation, and personal development
  • Supporting pupils with life skills and independence throughout the school day
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver a holistic approach to learning
  • Building positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued, and supported

    • Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Experience working with Autism, SLD, PMLD, or complex needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience supporting personal care or sensory needs (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
  • Ideal for aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or Health & Social Care professionals
