Learning Support Assistant (SEND) - Blackpool
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive education setting in Blackpool. This role involves working closely with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing both 1:1 and 2:1 tailored support to help learners access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support for students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficultiesAssist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessonsImplement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategiesSupport students with academic tasks, social development, and emotional regulationPromote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environmentMonitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staffSupport students during transitions, breaks, and off-site activities where requiredRequirements
Proven experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or similar roleDemonstrated experience supporting pupils in both 1:1 and 2:1 capacitiesUnderstanding of SEND needs and strategies to support learning and behaviourStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPatient, empathetic, and adaptable approachRelevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirableDesirable Skills
Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)Knowledge of behaviour management techniques (e.g., Team Teach)Experience in primary or secondary education settingsWhat We Offer
