The Company:

Catholic Education in the Northern Territory is a network of schools built on Christian values and on the history and traditions of this land across Australia's top end. Catholic Education has a network of 18 Catholic schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools.

The Position:

The Leader: Teaching and Learning coordinates the provision of service and support for secondary, primary and Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools aligned with identified sector and schools’ strategic priorities. They are responsible for leading and managing the Teaching and Learning Team of Education Officers to facilitate professional learning and professional networks, support teachers in planning, pedagogy, assessment and reporting and coordinate systemic initiatives and projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Educational leadership and management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current trends and practices in education, curriculum, planning and programming, assessment, reporting, pedagogy and inclusion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage and work collaboratively with school and system leadership teams to improve student outcomes
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and in teams, take initiative, manage competing needs, meet deadlines and complete tasks/projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data informed practices

Desirable Criteria

  • Sound knowledge of CENT’s strategic planning processes
  • Knowledge of factors affecting Aboriginal education and attainment.
  • Experience in school strategic planning processes
  • Commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and is an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Education
