Position Information
Broken Hill High School is a comprehensive high school with 435 students (24% Aboriginal) in Far West New South Wales. The school is proud of its academic, cultural and sporting achievements as well as catering for all students. The school has 6 support classes for students with learning support needs and an off-site resource the Broken Hill West Campus (tutorial centre) class. The school has an ongoing partnership and shares some senior curriculum with a neighbouring high school. Strong community ties are evident through the Parents and Citizens Association as well as partnerships with the Clontarf foundation. The school has a strong welfare focus and is a High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) partner school.
This position of Externally Funded ACIP Head Teacher VET Support commences Term 3, 2026. This full-time role will be based at Broken Hill High School (Garnet Street, Broken Hill) and will provide VET support to Broken Hill HS, Willyama HS, Coomealla HS, Menindee CS, Wilcannia CS, and Ivanhoe CS, through both face-to-face and virtual delivery.

Specific Selection Criteria
1.Vocational Education and Training (VET) Teaching qualifications and recent school-based experience or recent NSBTS experience.
2. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders.
3. Experience in the use of systems to analyse, record, manipulate, store and retrieve data.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of VET Student Support programs and systems, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) compliance, and commitment to the delivery of quality school support.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

This is an Above Centrally Identified permanent teacher position established through school funds. The successful candidate’s continued appointment to this position will be subject to the continuity of this funding, the ongoing requirement for the role and the educational needs of the school. Should the funding or the requirement for the position cease, the teacher will receive nominated transfer status; please refer to the Staffing Procedure for the Teaching Service in NSW Public Schools for additional information. When accepting the position, the successful applicant will be indicating their acceptance of the terms and conditions attached to this appointment.
