Willoughby Girls High School has a current enrolment of 1038 students, including 64% students from a language background other than English and three multi-categorical support classes. Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Approval to teach special education and experience and expertise in teaching students with complex needs including autism, challenging behaviours, and mental health concerns.
Capacity to lead and support colleagues to plan, implement and review curriculum and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning programs, resulting in improved learning outcomes.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for strengthening links with external agencies as well as parents and the school community to meet the needs of students with complex learning and behavioural needs.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse student data to develop differentiated evidence-based practice leading to improved outcomes for students with specific additional learning needs.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
