Position Information

Tempe High School has an enrolment of 990 students where 67% of students are from non-English speaking background and 3% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
  1.  Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective member of the school executive leadership team, leading strategic initiatives to drive whole-school improvement.
  2.  Proven capacity to inspire, support, and develop the Mathematics staff, foster a strong and cohesive team environment, and lead initiatives that enhance teaching and learning outcomes within a semi-selective school context.
  3.   Proven experience in leading the design, implementation, and ongoing development of rigorous, differentiated Mathematics programs that address the diverse learning needs of students, including high potential and gifted learners, and the capacity to support acceleration and enrichment programs.
  4.   Effective interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through building productive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider school community.
