About the Role 

Canberra Grammar School is seeking an outstanding and passionate French Language Teacher to join our vibrant Languages Faculty. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who believes that language learning opens doors to new cultures, perspectives and opportunities. You will inspire students to become confident communicators and globally minded learners while fostering a genuine appreciation for the French language and Francophone cultures. 

Teaching across Years 7–10 within the Australian Curriculum and International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP), you will engage students through dynamic and authentic learning experiences that develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Experience teaching the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) French courses will be highly regarded. 

As part of a high-performing and collaborative faculty, you will contribute to a culture of academic excellence, innovation and student engagement while supporting students to achieve their personal best. 

About You 

You are an enthusiastic and accomplished educator who brings energy, expertise and genuine care to your teaching. You will demonstrate: 

  • A passion for student learning and holistic development, both within and beyond the classroom  
  • A record of delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching  
  • Strong subject expertise in French Language  
  • A commitment to collaboration, professional learning and continuous improvement  
  • Experience with, or a willingness to undertake training in, the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Middle Years Programmes, the Australian Curriculum 
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the School’s pastoral and co-curricular programs  
  • Respect for and a willingness to support the School’s Anglican ethos  
  • A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Appropriate qualifications  
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration  
  • A current National Police Check
