About the Role 

Canberra Grammar School is seeking an outstanding and passionate French Language Teacher to join our vibrant Languages Faculty. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who believes that language learning opens doors to new cultures, perspectives and opportunities. You will inspire students to become confident communicators and globally minded learners while fostering a genuine appreciation for the French language and Francophone cultures. 

Teaching across Years 7–10 within the Australian Curriculum and International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP), you will engage students through dynamic and authentic learning experiences that develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Experience teaching the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) French courses will be highly regarded. 

As part of a high-performing and collaborative faculty, you will contribute to a culture of academic excellence, innovation and student engagement while supporting students to achieve their personal best. 

About You 

You are an enthusiastic and inspiring language educator who is passionate about helping students develop confidence and fluency in French. 

You will bring: 

  • Demonstrated ability to teach French Language across a range of year levels and abilities 
  • A passion for student learning, engagement and holistic development 
  • Experience delivering high-quality and inclusive classroom practice 
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for French language and culture 
  • A commitment to collaborative professional practice and continuous learning 
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, the Australian Curriculum and International Baccalaureate programmes 
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to pastoral care, co-curricular activities and the broader life of the School 
  • Respect for the School's Anglican ethos and commitment to an inclusive community 
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Appropriate qualifications 
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card 
  • A current National Police Check; and 
  • Full working rights within Australia.
