We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Finance Officer – Payroll and Accounts Receivables Assistant to join our team. This role is integral to the smooth running of the College’s financial functions, specifically in payroll processing and accounts receivables, ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential financial operations.

Please note, this is a full-time position with 7 weeks annual leave, and it requires some work during school holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring staff are paid accurately and in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.
  • Maintain payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and FTE changes.
  • Assist with accounts receivable duties, including managing outstanding debts and liaising with families to discuss fee arrangements.
  • Process superannuation payments and perform reconciliations of payroll and receivable accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Human Resources teams to ensure smooth workflows and timely reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll, superannuation, and taxation regulations.
  • Assist in administrative tasks as required by the Finance Manager and HR Manager.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Understanding of and commitment to the ethos and mission of a Catholic school.
  • Competence in payroll processing and accounts receivable functions.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, managing competing priorities effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in payroll or accounts receivable.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Experience in a school or higher education setting is advantageous.
