About the role

Based at our Pennant Hills head office, this is a permanent, full time opportunity to join a busy HR team. You will be responsible for managing the payroll team ensuring timely, accurate and confidential processing and reporting of the Catholic Schools Broken Bay payroll for more than 2000 staff. Your main duties will include:

  • Managing the end to end payroll processing, ensuring it is compliant with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards and other industrial instruments
  • Developing and implementing system and process efficiencies to support optimum service delivery standards
  • Working with stakeholders to design and implement contingency plans to minimise risk in areas such as data security
  • Working closely with the Head of HR Services to ensure that payroll services are aligned to organisational requirements
  • Provide mentoring, regular performance feedback and coaching for staff in the team with a focus on continuous learning
  • Representing the organisation's payroll needs on inter Diocesan working parties

About you

You will be an experienced and highly organised payroll professional with exceptional attention to detail. To be successful in this role you will be supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education. The skills you will bring to the role are:

  • In depth knowledge of end to end payroll processing; tax; superannuation; worker's compensation payments; leave management; salary packaging and interpretation of awards and enterprise agreements
  • Experience working with Oracle (PeopleSoft Global Payroll)
  • The ability to analyse data and prepare reports
  • Experience managing a team responsible for payroll processing
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within the HR team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Recent professional development in payroll related areas (e.g. tax, superannuation, FBT, salary packaging)
  • Demonstrated experience in streamlining payroll processes and the development of associated documentation
